According to their website, Kikkerland Design is a place “where creativity runs rampant and even the most utilitarian gadget becomes a delightful discovery.”
That certainly seems to be the case. Spend any amount of time perusing your catalog and you’ll find yourself bemused, intrigued, and perhaps even a little bewildered. Instruments that we’ve all taken for granted have become whimsically reimagined in some satisfying ways.
Three particular standouts come in the form of charming animal-inspired multi tools.
There’s a crab encased in beachwood featuring a mini scissor, bottle opener, 3/16 flat head screwdriver, can opener, mini knife, and rope saw.
And then there’s a chipper bird for cyclists with a stainless steel Phillips head screwdriver, 3mm and 2mm Allen key feet, and 6mm, 5mm, and 4mm Allen key tail-feathers.
Lastly, they’ve made is a splendid 7-in-1 menagerie with a flat head screwdriver, bottle opener, knife, wire stripper, file, Phillips head screwdriver, and punch in the likeness of what appears to be a giraffe, a hippopotamus, and a rhinoceros.
